Four Questions:
Sculpture and Conversation
What exactly is happening in this exhibition?
As the title suggests, each of the 18 artists represented in the exhibit have commented on a variety of questions - four per artist.
We get some insight into the ideas and process that drive them to make sculpture. All this is accessible through a QR code posted beside the artwork.
What is SOS?
In Pittsburgh, SOS is not a distress call! Instead, it represents the Society of Sculptors, an organization that has been around since 1935 supporting and promoting the sculpture within the tri-state region.
Why do people make sculpture anyway?
This is the fundamental question, isn’t it? Why do people feel the need to make art? Through this exhibition’s artist dialogue, you will discover some of the forces at work that compel these artists to create.
What’s in this Show?
Great work! A select group of SOS members will exhibit their most recent work. Many personal styles presented in a variety of materials will entertain you with ideas and visual inspiration.
Join us at the exhibition’s public reception; Sunday, May 22, 1:00 – 3:00pm.
