This is a “no fee” exhibition open to all S.O.S members

Location: Bridgeville Public Library 505 McMillen Street Bridgeville, PA 15017

This exhibition will be a juried show of three-dimensional pieces and/or wall sculptures. There is no theme or preferred sculptural media. • The submission of wall sculptures and pieces that can sit on bookshelves, ledges, and bookcases are encouraged – although not required.
Each artist may submit up to three pieces. All sculptures will be juried from images of completed artwork.

Somatosensory 2022: Relating to the Senses

This engaging exhibition is returning to a newly renovated space!

Presented in partnership with Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Library of Accessible
Media for Pennsylvanians (CLP, LAMP) and the Society of Sculptors (SOS).

About the Exhibition:
This exhibition presents a tactile adventure for visitors to the CLP, LAMP facility.
Each artwork is accompanied by a description recorded by the artist in
LAMP’s professional recording studio. This combination of verbal and tactile
expression creates an exciting encounter with artistry for both the maker
and this appreciative library audience.

This exhibition encourages a powerful output of creativity to address aspects and issues that both challenge and reaffirm life within our complex, contemporary world.
All sculptural media: pedestal pieces, floor and wall artwork, plus installations are welcome.

Words Matter, a show hosted by Pittsburgh Society of Sculptors (SOS) at the Brew
House, echoes the state of our current culture where words can cancel, words can
give agency, words can make change. More than ever, language matters in a time
challenged by a pandemic, politics and inequity.
Words Matter embraces the Sculpture X Conference theme of Art & Agency by
exploring contemporary sculptural practices that connect and interact with
audiences. Share your energy, spirit, and ideas at Sculpture X 2021 by applying to this
juried exhibition.

Self-proclaimed sculptors of every gender, race, age, ability, etc. are invited to apply.
