Somatosensory 2022: Relating to the Senses This engaging exhibition is returning to a newly renovated space! Presented in partnership with Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians (CLP, LAMP) and the Society of Sculptors (SOS). About the Exhibition: This exhibition presents a tactile adventure for visitors to the CLP, LAMP facility. Each artwork is accompanied by a description recorded by the artist in LAMP’s professional recording studio. This combination of verbal and tactile expression creates an exciting encounter with artistry for both the maker and this appreciative library audience. Somatosensory: Related to the Senses The exciting tactile exhibition is back for a third year! Have your sculptures explored through touch as patrons and visitors of the Carnegie Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (CLP-LBPH) interact with your sculpture. This exhibition was noted by the Library of Congress in their presentation of the 2018 Regional Library of the Year Award to CLP-LBPH. “Somatosensory 2018: Relating to the Senses, where attendees with visual impairments could feel the features of the sculptures while listening to descriptive recordings by the artists.” Each sculpture will again be accompanied by a headset playing an artist recorded statement.
